Vicky Parikh
Dr. Vicky Parikh is an accomplished healthcare executive and academic leader specializing in population health, value-based care, and health equity. As the Executive Director of Population Health at MedStar Shah Medical Group, he leads strategic initiatives that enhance care coordination, preventive services, and chronic disease management, all while driving cost efficiency and improved patient outcomes. His expertise in value-based care models ensures that MedStar Shah Medical Group remains at the forefront of delivering high-quality, patient-centered care.
Dr. Parikh is a recognized expert in clinical analytics, predictive modeling, and risk stratification, using data-driven strategies to optimize care delivery and improve patient health. His leadership has been instrumental in designing and implementing Accountable Care Organizations (ACOs), Medicare Advantage plans, and value-based payment programs, aligning provider incentives with better health outcomes. He has successfully led state and commercial healthcare initiatives, including the Maryland Primary Care Program (MDPCP), Aetna ACO, CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield ACO, Cigna ACO, and NCQA quality metric programs, reinforcing MedStar Shah’s commitment to advancing value-based, patient-focused healthcare.
In addition to his role at MedStar Shah, Dr. Parikh is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Georgetown University, an Associate Faculty member at the Georgetown Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center, and Associate faculty at MedStar Institute of Quality and Safety contributing to research and education in cancer care, public health, safety and health system transformation.
Dr. Parikh earned his medical degree from University of Mumbai, India, followed by a Master’s in Public Health (MPH) from George Washington University, where he specialized in biostatistics, risk modeling and population health management.
Dr. Parikh also serves on multiple healthcare advisory boards, including the PG County Health Population Health Advisory Committee and Prevention Link, and is a steering committee member at Carequality, a national interoperability framework improving care coordination. He is also an appointed member of the Maryland Primary Care Program Transformation Advisory Committee (PCP-TAC), where he plays a key role in shaping the future of primary care and value-based healthcare delivery.
