Dr. Umed K. Shah is a co-founder of Shah Associates and a Board Certified Internist and Gastroenterologist. He is affiliated with St. Mary’s Hospital and serves as an Assistant Clinical Professor at Georgetown University Hospital. Since 1976, he has held the position of Vice-President at Shah Associates M.D., L.L.C., and has been an Associate of the Tri-County Endoscopy Center since 1989. Dr. Shah manages several clinical trials in collaboration with various pharmaceutical companies and is a member of the St. Mary’s County Medical Society. He is actively involved in numerous national and international charitable organizations and is affectionately known as “Dr. UK” by many of his patients. He fondly recalls the very first patient he treated in St. Mary’s County back in 1975. Outside of his medical practice, Dr. Shah enjoys spending quality time with his wife, Shaku, and their three children, as well as playing volleyball, shooting pool, reading, and traveling.
