About Me
Dr. Samtani was born and raised in Potomac, MD, to physician parents. After completing high school at Holton-Arms School in Bethesda, she was awarded a seven-year accelerated BS/MD program at George Washington University, where she graduated summa cum laude and was inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society. She then continued her training in Internal Medicine at Georgetown University, receiving the Critical Care Award for Senior Resident in the Department of Medicine, recognizing her embodiment of empathy and excellence in critical care medicine.
Dr. Samtani completed her Cardiology fellowship at the University of California, Irvine, where she was named Fellow of the Year for all three years of her training and elected Chief Fellow in Cardiology. She subsequently pursued Interventional Cardiology at UC Irvine under the esteemed guidance of Dr. Morton Kern, author of the Cardiac Catheterization Handbook. Dr. Samtani is board-certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease, and Interventional Cardiology.
She has a strong focus on patient education and medical education, having authored multiple chapters in three different cardiology textbooks concerning stress testing and interventional cardiology. Dr. Samtani has a particular interest in women’s heart health and complex coronary interventions utilizing radial access.
