The Essence

About Me

Dr. Monil Shah grew up in India and moved to Denver, Colorado, at an early age. Growing up in a rural community in India, he was exposed to the barriers in medicine and the lack of accessibility to proper medical care, especially within underserved communities. It was this experience that drove him to become a physician. Monil Shah, MD, completed his undergraduate education at the University of Colorado, Denver, and medical school at the University of Colorado School of Medicine. Being from Colorado, he enjoys the outdoors. Monil’s hobbies include hiking 14ers, biking, indoor rock climbing, and running 5Ks. After completing medical school, Monil moved to the East Coast to pursue residency training at New York University Langone Health.

Dr. Monil Shah’s training background provided him with an incredible educational experience, ranging from exposure to diverse patient populations to learning about different cultural and religious beliefs, along with unparalleled linguistic diversity. Following residency, Monil worked as a hospitalist at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and joined Stony Brook University Hospital for further fellowship in Cardiology.
