The Essence
About Me
Dr. Kajal Shah specializes in interventional pain medicine, a field focused on providing targeted relief for patients suffering from moderate to severe pain. As Dr. Shah explains, “Interventional Pain medicine is a sub-specialty of the medical field devoted to the use of interventions like facet injections, epidural steroid injections, peripheral nerve blocks, and peripheral joint injections for targeted management of pain unresponsive to conservative measures. These interventions are extremely helpful for moderate to severe pain, and trial of these injections is sometimes suggested over surgical options.”
Dr. Kajal Shah further explains, “Some of the Interventional Pain procedures offered at our medical center include the following:”
- Trigger point injections
- Epidural steroid injections (cervical, thoracic, and lumbar)
- Joint injections (shoulder, elbow, wrist, hand, hip, knee)
- Peripheral nerve blocks (carpal tunnel syndrome and occipital nerve blocks)
- Lumbar facet injections
- Medial branch block
Dr. Shah approaches each patient with empathy and a personalized treatment plan, believing in a collaborative approach to managing pain and improving quality of life. Beyond her professional commitments, Dr. Shah enjoys spending time with her family, which helps her stay grounded and balanced in both her personal and professional life.
